Quality of the Proof 1930 Penny
A Proof coin is one of the rarest and, from an investment perspective, one of the most desirable. Never intended to make its way into cash registers, a proof coin was created as a museum piece, a work of art, to be held in prominent collections or Government archives.

In the case of the Proof 1930 Penny only six examples were struck at the Melbourne Mint. Three are currently held in institutional collections: the British Museum, the Museum of Victoria and the Art Gallery of South Australia. Three examples are currently held in private collections: Sydney Collection (ex British Museum specimen), Sydney Collection (ex Melbourne Mint specimen), and this coin, the Le Souef & Hagley specimen.
